Why do the softgels look cloudy / milky?
Why do the softgels look cloudy / milky?
Updated over a week ago

Algae oil is a natural product that may vary in colour, smell and taste depending on the batch. It may happen that algae oil can become cloudy and flaky, also known as turbidity. The haze is a subjective visual impression caused by small, naturally occurring particles in the oil. However, this is not a sign of quality loss but just a natural cycle. Its cause lies in the fact that the natural ingredients of the oil become visible as a function of the batch and temperature and the oil therefore looks cloudy and flaky. In terms of health, however, this turbidity is safe and, moreover, does not diminish the quality of algae oil (the turbidity of the algae oil can be compared with the crystallisation of honey).

The temperature is not the cause of the issue, but, as mentioned above it can exacerbate the issue when the softgels have become colder than normal room temperature.
