Understanding Changes in Supplement Appearance

Why has my supplement changed in colour or texture?

Updated over a year ago

We are dedicated to providing whole food and natural nutrient supplements. However, like all natural products, they can undergo changes in appearance if not stored properly. A common observation some users may make is that their supplement has hardened, shrivelled, or changed colour, transitioning to a brown or black shade.

This change primarily occurs when the powder inside the capsule absorbs moisture. The introduction of moisture can cause the supplement's appearance to alter. This change in texture and colour can be especially pronounced if the product is left exposed for prolonged periods.

To ensure the optimum state of your supplements:

  1. Always seal the pack tightly after every use.

  2. Store in a cool, dry place.

  3. Use the product within 60 days of opening.

It's reassuring to note that while the appearance might have changed, the capsules remain safe for consumption. However, one should keep in mind that the efficacy of certain nutrients, such as iron, might have diminished slightly due to this exposure.

Maintaining the recommended storage guidelines will help in preserving the product's efficacy and prolong its shelf life. Remember, our supplements contain natural ingredients, so store and handle them with the same care you'd give to any other natural items.
