We do not recommend taking our Curcumin Complex during pregnancy. Curcumin is the main active compound in turmeric. While generally considered safe, there is limited evidence on the effects of curcumin during pregnancy.
Although research is limited, some indicate curcumin can stimulate the uterus, increase risk of bleeding, and potentially trigger contractions. The absorption enhancing black pepper extract may also interact with certain medications.
For these reasons, we advise avoiding curcumin/turmeric supplements until after giving birth. As always, check with your doctor before using any new supplements, especially when pregnant. But err on the side of caution and avoid Curcumin Complex until after delivery.
